Let your eyes follow the line that endlessly wanders through this painting. The playful lines weave a path leading nowhere. Abstract expressionist, lively patterns and colour harmonies capture the energy of light.

Terra Incognito
TERRA INCOGNITO
22x28 gouache on yupo

I started this painting vigorously with gouache on yupo paper. Once dried, the paint sits on the surface and is easily removed with water. Using a rag or a wet paintbrush I blot the water and remove the underlying paint. This is the method I use to define the image details. Terra Incognito alludes to the earth and surface pattern provides the viewer mystery.

RISING
RISING

In the sweet spot of the painting something undefined has broken free and appears to be rising up. The fluid swirls and bubbles indicate an organic life form in motion. The painting has a fresh quality as it was painted quickly without any reworking.

Rhythm of the Mountains #3
RHYTHM OF THE MOUNTAINS #3
14x18 gouache on yupo. Gouache is a perfect medium to use as it is fluid and dries quickly. Once dried, gouache can be removed with water and the patterns and lines can be created. Once removed these marks cannot be changed.

Rhythms of the Mountains #2
RHYTHM OF THE MOUNTAINS #2
14x18 gouache on yupo. These are sister paintings and look good together as they are related in size, colour and pattern content.
